This hand-shaped terracotta vessel features a wide, bulbous body and a low-profile, conical lid that sits flush against the rim, meticulously formed using the traditional Pilin coiling method. The entire exterior surface is characterized by a dense, rhythmic Ukir carving of interlocking diamond shapes, creating a high-relief lattice pattern that wraps seamlessly around the circumference and the lid. A heavy, weathered white wash is applied over the deep burnt umber clay, settling into the geometric recesses to emphasize the precision of the tool work and the tactile, stone-like topography. The composition reflects a sophisticated Balinese artisanal style, where primitive storage forms are elevated through repetitive, architectural motifs and a sun-bleached patina inspired by traditional village pottery.
