This hand-carved wooden sculpture takes inspiration from the Gongseng or traditional cow bells found in the rural Balinese countryside, featuring a stout, trapezoidal body with rounded edges. The central register is defined by intricate Ukir relief work, showcasing a series of sunburst and geometric tribal motifs that are highlighted by a thick, chalky white-wash finish. The upper and lower sections retain a warm, distressed terracotta-toned wood grain, while the piece is topped with two wooden lugs securing a thick, hand-twisted handle made of Tali Bagu fiber. This textural combination of raw timber and forest-harvested cordage emphasizes a rustic, agrarian aesthetic, celebrating the artisanal heritage of local village life through its weathered surface and rhythmic, hand-etched patterns.
